The 2017 ASWIFTT Literary Visual & Performing Arts AWARDS

the-number3It’s that time again to join ASWIFTT RADIO Host, Brenda Johnson Padgitt along with her co-hosts Glenda Fields and Eunice Bridges on January 29, 20167 at 5 pm CST, 6 pm EST, and 3 pm PST, as they host The 2017 ASWIFTT Literary, Visual & Performing Arts Awards.  This will be ASWIFTT’s 3rd annual awards ceremony for ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild members and ASWIFTT PUBLISHING, LLC authors.

The awards recognition platform seeks to recognize and appreciate its members for their works, publications, community involvement and contributions in the Literary, Visual, & Performing Arts.  ASWIFTT Award categories range from Education, Global Outreach,Transitional Figure & More.

Winners will have the opportunity to call in to give a 2 minute acceptance speech. ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild To Discuss Careers in “The ARTS” at Henry W. Longfellow Academy Career Day

Dallas ISD Principal Lorena Hernandez and the staff of Henry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy feel that the annual career day event is a great way to enlighten students about opportunities that await them after graduation.   Every year their school solicit parents and business owners in the community to come and share their experiences and job duties with the students. The event is scheduled for September 23, 2016 from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Henry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy located at 5314 Boaz Street, Dallas, Texas 75209.

Dayja Johnson Becomes An ASWIFTT JR. Writer’s Guild Member

Dayja Johnson picASWIFTT JR. Writer’s Guild is growing! The founders of ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild are proud to add Dayja Johnson to the roster as an ASWIFTT JR. Member. Dayja will receive mentoring and training in her literary craft. She is among other ASWIFTT JR. members who are very creative and love to write.

Dayja Johnson was born in Sacramento, California on June 1, 2004 where she lives with her mom Jamiela Day. She is in the 6th grade and likes school. Dayja wrote her first book “Fill my Stocking Too” with the assistance of her grandmother Eunice who is the Co-Founder of Aswiftt Writer’s Guild. Dayja also likes to read a variety of books. She is inspired by her teacher Mrs. Wygocki who teaches her social studies, history, reading, and math skills. At the age of six Dayja was featured in her first video titled “In my Life Time” which was produced and filmed by her grandma, Eunice in 2010. Dayja’s future is so bright that she has to wear sunglasses. She definitely has acting in her future.

ASWIFTT Authors To Attend The National Black Book Festival In October 2016

The event will take place at Fallbrook Church located at 12512 Walters Rd. Exhibit hours will be on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm and Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild and ASWIFTT PUBLISHING, LLC will be among other authors, publishers and vendors who are scheduled to attend the event. ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild has successfully completed two events during the month of June.  The Sacramento Black Book Fair and the ASWIFTT Book Signing 2015.  Eunice Bridges, ASWIFTT Co-Founder and author of Silent Cry, participated in Sacramento Black Book Fair held at the Oak Park United Methodist Church.  Eunice met and greeted many people.  She gave out ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild Flyers with information about the guild.  Over all,  Eunice said she had a good time and it was more exposure for her as an author and ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild.  The ASWIFTT Book Signing 2015 took place at the Runway Shoes Store in Vista Ridge Mall in Lewisville, Texas.  Authors Kenneth Simmons, Kamille Padgitt and Brenda Johnson Padgitt wereASWIFTT Runway Shoes BookSigning Logo on the scene to pass out flyers about ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild, meet new people and help out at Venus Matthews shoe store.  Many guests came to either buy shoes or learn about the opportunities that ASWIFTT had to offer.  The event took place from 1 pm to 5 pm.  ASWIFTT Author Kenneth Simmons took pictures with many of his guests.  ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild and ASWIFTT PUBLISHING, LLC want to thank Venus Matthews and her mom for their hospitality to Team ASWIFTT!

ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild Signs New ASWIFTT Members: Bridgette McCullough and Rachel Butler

ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild welcomes its two newest members Bridgette McCullough and Rachel Butler.  Bridgette and Rachel are a mother/daughter team who joined ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild with a desire to get mentoring and become published authors.  Bridgette McCullough is new to the literary world.  She is now putting her passion of writing to work and pursing her dream.  She says it is a blessing to get the opportunity to work with ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild Founders, Brenda Johnson Padgitt, Eunice Bridges and Glenda Fields.  She further stated that she feels confident in the founders’ knowledge, skill-set, talents, and desire to help her achieve her literary goals.

Since childhood, Bridgette has written poetry, short stories and thoughts about life in her journal.  Bridgette is an avid reader, lover of art Rachel Butler picand music.  She is a proclaimed self-taught dancer, video/photographer and admires the triumph of the human spirit.  Her ultimate life goal is to write and travel all over the world. Rachel Butler joined ASWIFTT Jr. Writer’s Guild with a passion to write.  She is a creative, thought provoking 10 year old student who has written several short stories.  She also received an award for an essay she had written. The award became a motivation for Rachel to continue writing and become a published author.  With the assistance of ASWIFTT Jr. Writer’s Guild, she is happy to have support and mentorship to make her dream a reality. Rachel also loves to act, swim, play video games and bake.
