ASWIFTT JR Member Dayja Johnson To Be Honored At The 2017 ALVP AWARDS

Writer’s Guild Member, Dayja Johnson, will be honored at the 2017 ASWIFTT Literary Visual & Performing Arts AWARDS for her first book “Fill My Stocking Too!”  It is a children’s book that teaches youth about caring for kids who are less fortunate. Dayja co-authored her first book with her grandmother, Eunice Bridges. Both authors did an excellent job educating readers about children who are orphans. This book can also be used as a teaching tool in schools to educate students about unselfish giving. The founders of ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild are proud of Dayja Johnson and all ASWIFTT JR. Members. ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild provides mentoring and training to help JR Members master their craft.

Dayja Johnson was born in Sacramento, California on June 1, 2004 where shedayja-johnson-pic-2-2 lives with her mom Jamiela Day. She is in the 7th grade and likes school. She also reads a variety of books. Last year, she was inspired by her 6th grade teacher Mrs. Wygocki who teaches social studies, history, reading, and math skills.  At the age of six Dayja was featured in her first video titled “In My Life Time” which was produced and filmed by her grandma, Eunice in 2010. Dayja’s future is so bright that she has to wear sunglasses. She definitely has acting in her future.

ASWIFTT JR Member Kamille Padgitt To Read Her Poetic Piece At Barnes & Noble

Writer’s Guild Member, Kamille Padgitt, will read her poetic piece “Quilted Hope” at “Barnes & Noble” on January 25, 2017 at 6:00 pm at the Lincoln Park Store located at 7700 West Northwest Highway, Suite 300, Dallas, Texas 75225. Barnes & Noble has partnered with Henry W. Longfellow Academy to host a Bookfair to raise funds for the school. Kamille has also written several poetic pieces in the past. Her poem “Don’t Worry Be Happy!” was placed in the 2016 “Express Yourself Youth Poetry Competition Anthology.” The event was sponsored by the Dallas Public Library and the Dallas Foundation. Kamille was among 60 finalists who read their poem at the J. Erik Johsson Central Library luncheon last year.

Kamille Padgitt is also a Dallas ISD Scholar. She is listed among other Dallas ISDKamille Padgitt1A Scholars for her Exemplary Academic Achievements.  Kamille is an 8th grader who scored in the 95th percentile on her STAAR Reading/Math standardized test last year.  The Dallas ISD Scholars Program recognizes students in the 7th through 11th grade who have demonstrated academic excellence and college readiness potential.

Kamille is a published author who wrote “The Jersey Devil Is Not REAL!” in October 2013. As a member of ASWIFTT JR. Writer’s Guild, she is receiving mentoring and support to develop her chosen literary craft. She wants to publish more of her fiction stories in the future. Her desire is to become a scientist, teacher and author like her mother. She enjoys singing, reading, science, painting, ballet, drawing and riding her bicycle.

The 2017 ASWIFTT Literary Visual & Performing Arts AWARDS

The awards recognition platform seeks to recognize and appreciate its members for their works, publications, community involvement and contributions in the Literary, Visual, & Performing Arts.  ASWIFTT Award categories range from Education, Global Outreach,Transitional Figure & More.

Winners will have the opportunity to call in to give a 2 minute acceptance speech. ASWIFTT Author Bridgett Fifer READS to SENIORS

the-lion-whiskers-pic-1-scspThe ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild “READS to SENIORS” community service program made its debut on September 20, 2016 at Presence Our Lady of Victory, located at 20 Briarcliff Lane Bourbonnais, IL. ASWIFTT Author Bridgett Fifer read “The Lion’s Whiskers” which is an Ethiopian Folktale by Nancy Raines Day. The seniors welcomed Ms. Fifer with open arms. They were excited about the visit and the gifts that Bridgett brought to them. The staff also did manicures for the seniors on the same day as the book reading. It was a personal visit for Ms. Fifer because she worked for the senior center in the past. She also had the opportunity to see her old high school teacher who promised to purchase her upcoming book “Transcend To Legacy: Facing Myself.” Bridgett says she was happy and humbled to be amongst the elderly and wisdom.

ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild To Discuss Careers in “The ARTS” at Henry W. Longfellow Academy Career Day

henry-w-longfellow-academy-picASWIFTT Writer’s Guild Co-Founder, Brenda Johnson Padgitt, will be apart of this year’s career day at Henry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy. Dallas ISD Principal Lorena Hernandez and the staff of Henry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy feel that the annual career day event is a great way to enlighten students about opportunities that await them after graduation.   Every year their school solicit parents and business owners in the community to come and share their experiences and job duties with the students. The event is scheduled for September 23, 2016 from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Henry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy located at 5314 Boaz Street, Dallas, Texas 75209.

ASWIFTT Member Bridgett Fifer READS TO KIDS

The Lions Whiskers picASWIFTT Writer’s Guild member Bridgett Fifer took one of our ASWIFTT Community Service Programs to MBS Childcare Center Inc, located at 525 East Fair Street, Kankakee, IL 60901 on August 26, 2016. Bridgett read “The Lion’s Whiskers” which is an Ethiopian Folktale by Nancy Raines Day. The children, staff and daycare owner welcomed Ms. Fifer and the ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild organization. The children were excited to hear the story and learned a lot. Bridgett Fifer created a powerpoint presentation so the kids could visualize the Ethiopian Folktale. Ms. Fifer also came with gifts for the children. They had an opportunity to portray the main lion character in the story by wearing lion masks.

Ms. Fifer enjoyed reading the Ethiopian Folktale at MBS Childcare Center,AWG LOGO Pen Inc. She also stated that MBS is the same childcare center she attended as a child. Revisiting the childcare center years later has come full circle for Ms. Fifer. ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild Community Service Programs has given Bridgett the opportunity to come face to face with her past as a child. She also has an upcoming book titled “Transcend To Legacy: Facing Myself,” which is scheduled to be released December 15, 2016.

ASWIFTT Author Bridgett Fifer To Release “Transcend To Legacy: Facing Myself”

TTLFMBridgettFiferFRTCVERDr. Bridgett Fifer and ASWIFTT PUBLISHING, LLC to release “Transcend To Legacy: Facing Myself” on December 15, 2016. Dr. Fifer is excited about her upcoming publication and taking her place among ASWIFTT authors. Facing myself, is a self help book which describe situations and events that led Dr. Fifer into facing herself. The book provides self-help exercises and innovative activities to help readers explore and identify issues that have contributed to experiencing loneliness, unbalanced emotions, unanswered questions of existence and behaviors that have refrained many from walking into their destiny.

Facing myself allowed Dr. Fifer to become honest with her strengths and weaknesses that were preventing her from living and leading a life that would leave a legacy for future generations to follow. She also learned that strengths can be weaknesses and weaknesses can be viewed as strengths. Dr. Fifer found that she lost the love she once had for herself due to rejection, fear, and self doubt. Facing myself helped Dr. Fifer to experience a healing and a newly found love for herself after dealing and facing her own internal brokenness. Recognizing that it is okay to be different and uniquely made, Dr. Fifer describes how she faced God, her singleness, relationships and leadership.

Dr. Bridgett fifer is a native of Kankakee, IL. who has achieved levels of success few would have expected.Bridgett Fifer She holds a Bachelor of Science degree, Masters of Management and a Doctorate in Education. Dr. Fifer is an author, entrepreneur, educator, mentor, motivational speaker and a member of ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild. She has launched a “Get Her Done” program to assist students with obtaining their GED.  A women of awe-inspiring influence, Dr. Fifer has been a keynote speak and trainer who brings energy and inspiration for educational sectors and businesses for the purposes of reforming both individuals and organizations in the continued quest for the improvement and quality of life. She also has a charismatic influence that reaches a wide range audience by crossing age and cultural lines.
