ASWIFTT Authors Dayja Johnson & Eunice Bridges To Release Christmas Book

ASWIFTT PUBLISHING, LLC is proud to release on November 15, 2017, “Fill My Stocking Too!” by Dayja Johnson and Eunice Bridges. This book will be released just in time for Christmas gifts. Dayja co-authored her first book with her grandmother, Eunice Bridges. Both authors did an excellent job educating readers about children who are orphans. This book can also be used as a teaching tool in schools to educate students about unselfish giving and helping others who are less fortunate. Dayja Johnson was born in Sacramento, California on June 1, 2004 where she lives with her mom Jamiela Day. She is in the 8th grade and likes school. She also reads a variety of books. She was inspired by her 6th grade teacher Mrs. Wygocki who teaches social studies, history, reading, and math skills. At the age of six Dayja was featured in her first video titled “In My Life Time” which was produced and filmed by her grandma, Eunice in 2010. She is also a member of ASWIFTT JR. Writer’s Guild. Dayja’s future is so bright that she has to wear sunglasses. She definitely has acting in her future.

Eunice Bridges has written songs, poetry, books and short films. She is the Founder and Executive Director of EB’s Flip the Script Productions. Kamille Padgitt Wins 1st Place In The Beginner Debate Team Category

ASWIFTTFounder2ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild founders want to congratulate ASWIFTT JR. Member, Kamille Padgitt for winning 1st place in the Beginner Debate Team Category on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Ellis Davis Field House in Dallas, Texas. Kamille placed 1st out of 20 students from various Dallas ISD schools. The Dallas Urban Debate Alliance sponsors Dallas ISD debate tournaments. This award is one of many that Ms. Padgitt has received this school year. As a member of her school’s beginner debate team, Kamille is learning invaluable 21st century skills that will prepare her for college. These skills include critical thinking to problem solve, organization, team work, research, writing, oral presentation and knowing how to defend her argument. Kamille is also active in her school’s choir and drama team.

ASWIFTT JR. Member Kamille Padgitt Was Honored For Her Poetic Piece

Kamille Padgitt1AASWIFTT JR. Writer’s Guild member Kamille Padgitt did us proud at the 20th Annual Youth Poetry Competition. She was one of the finalists for her poetic spin “Don’t Worry Be Happy.” Kamille’s poem was published with other Dallas ISD poetry finalists in the 20th Annual Youth Poetry Competition Finalists’ Anthology. The event took place on April 23, 2016 at the J. Erik Johnson Central Library located at 1515 Young St., Dallas, Texas 75201. She did an excellent job of representing ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild and her school. Kamille eloquently read her piece and was honored with the other finalists. The Express Yourself Youth Poetry Competition is sponsored by the Dallas Public Library and the Dallas Foundation. It is a competition that takes place every year.

Dayja Johnson Becomes An ASWIFTT JR. Writer’s Guild Member

Dayja Johnson picASWIFTT JR. Writer’s Guild is growing! The founders of ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild are proud to add Dayja Johnson to the roster as an ASWIFTT JR. Member. Dayja will receive mentoring and training in her literary craft. She is among other ASWIFTT JR. members who are very creative and love to write.

ASWIFTT JR. Member, Kamille Padgitt Puts Poetic Spin On “Don’t Worry Be Happy!”

The ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild Organization and Founders are proud to announce that Kamille Padgitt made the final cut in the “Express Yourself Youth Poetry Competition sponsored by the Dallas Public Library and the Dallas Foundation. Kamille entered the contest earlier this year in January 2016. The piece she authored is called “Don’t Worry Be Happy!” She is among the 60 finalists who will read their poem on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11 a.m at a ceremony & luncheon at the J. Erik Johsson Central Library, located at 1515 Young Street in Dallas, Texas.

Kamille was also honored on March 22, 2016 at the DallasexpressYourself pic ISD Scholars Recognition Ceremony.  She is listed among other Dallas ISD Scholars for her Exemplary Academic Achievements.  Kamille is a 7th grader who scored in the 95th percentile on her STAAR Reading/Math standardized test last year.  The Dallas ISD Scholars Program recognizes students in the 7th through 11th grade who have demonstrated academic excellence and college readiness potential.  This program supports students in their pursuit toward National Merit Scholarships and it also provides resources and opportunities that promote academic and social success.

ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild Signs New ASWIFTT Members: Bridgette McCullough and Rachel Butler

ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild welcomes its two newest members Bridgette McCullough and Rachel Butler.  Bridgette and Rachel are a mother/daughter team who joined ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild with a desire to get mentoring and become published authors.  Bridgette McCullough is new to the literary world.  She is now putting her passion of writing to work and pursing her dream.  She says it is a blessing to get the opportunity to work with ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild Founders, Brenda Johnson Padgitt, Eunice Bridges and Glenda Fields.  She further stated that she feels confident in the founders’ knowledge, skill-set, talents, and desire to help her achieve her literary goals.

Since childhood, Bridgette has written poetry, short stories and thoughts about life in her journal.  Bridgette is an avid reader, lover of art Rachel Butler picand music.  She is a proclaimed self-taught dancer, video/photographer and admires the triumph of the human spirit.  Her ultimate life goal is to write and travel all over the world. Rachel Butler joined ASWIFTT Jr. Writer’s Guild with a passion to write.  She is a creative, thought provoking 10 year old student who has written several short stories.  She also received an award for an essay she had written. The award became a motivation for Rachel to continue writing and become a published author.  With the assistance of ASWIFTT Jr. Writer’s Guild, she is happy to have support and mentorship to make her dream a reality. Rachel also loves to act, swim, play video games and bake.

Join ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild on March 8, 2014 from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Carrollton Public Library at Josey Ranch Lake in the Environmental Center to share an excerpt from your book, One of your visual masterpieces, or a sample of your performing arts creation.  “SPEAK your PIECE” allows you to share and promote your published works with members of ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild and others who attends this event. Bring your best written, visual or performing arts piece.  ASWIFTT Writer’s Guild wants to support what you are doing. SPEAK your PIECE will be fun and entertaining for all.  Again, join us from 1 pm to 3 pm  at the Carrollton Public Library at Josey Ranch Lake in the Environmental Center located at 1700 Keller Springs, Carrollton, Texas 75006.  See you there!
